FAQ

Tour in Thailand

1. Can we go hiking in Thailand, and how difficult are the walks?

Yes, mainly in the Chiang Mai region, where forest trails and hill scenery make for good walking. The walks we include are easy to moderate and last between three and five hours. The exact length and difficulty depend on your fitness and on what you tell us before the trip is planned, and because the programme is private the route can be shortened on the spot if a walk turns out to be too much on the day.

2. Do you offer diving or snorkelling excursions on free days on the islands?

Free days on the islands are left open so you can rest, but we can arrange excursions to nearby islands if you want them. These are usually group excursions with English-speaking guides or instructors. Your hotel can also arrange them locally once you are there.

3. Do you have activities for children?

Yes. In Bangkok children usually enjoy a cycling tour through the older neighbourhoods, a Muay Thai class or watching a match. In Chiang Mai a Thai cooking class works well for most ages. In the southern islands, boat trips with snorkelling are normally the highlight of the trip for younger travellers. Because the itinerary is private, activities are chosen around the ages of the children actually travelling.

4. What are the hotels offered for this trip? Can I choose the hotels myself?

The suggested hotels are listed in the detailed itinerary. We include well-located hotels in the quote that have been well received by our clients. You can also suggest hotels of your own preference, and the itinerary will be adjusted around them.

5. Do you offer diving or snorkeling excursions for free days on the islands?

Free days on the islands are left open so you can rest, but we can arrange excursions to nearby islands if you want them. These are usually group excursions with English-speaking guides or instructors. Your hotel can also arrange them locally once you are there.

6. What is the level of the proposed hikes?

We engage in hikes of an easy to moderate level, lasting from 3 to 5 hours. However, the duration and difficulty of the hikes depend on your health condition. This private program can be customized on-site.

7. Can we go hiking during the trip?

Yes, you can definitely go hiking in Thailand, particularly in the Chiang Mai region. This area offers travelers numerous hiking opportunities amidst its lush vegetation. For off-the-beaten-path experiences, consider visiting Mae Hong Son and Pai, which are populated by various ethnic minority groups, including the long-necked Karen people.

8. Do you have fun activities for children?

Yes, we offer several exciting activities for your children. In Bangkok, you can take bicycle or motorcycle rides through its bustling streets, take part in a Muay Thai class, or even watch a match. In Chiang Mai in the north, a visit to the elephant camps is highly recommended. You can also join a cooking class to explore the local cuisine.

In the southern islands, boat trips for snorkeling or diving are greatly loved by children.

9. What are the must-visit sites in Thailand?

Thailand attracts tourists not only for its rich and diverse culture but also for its magnificent landscapes. Begin your journey in the Central region of Thailand with Bangkok, the Thai capital where you can savor delicious dishes and experience the bustling city life. Not far from Bangkok, you'll discover the historic city of Ayutthaya, steeped in history, as well as the lush national parks in the Kanchanaburi region.

Moving up to the North, you'll visit Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. This region offers travelers breathtaking landscapes with terraced rice fields and opportunities to meet welcoming minority ethnic groups.

The Southern region, a favorite of many travelers, is where you'll find places like Phuket, Krabi, Koh Samui, each boasting white sandy beaches, turquoise waters, and incredible underwater landscapes.

10. What is the ideal duration for visiting Thailand?

A panoramic tour of Thailand would require one week on-site. Such a duration would allow you to explore must-visit places like Bangkok with its impressive temples and bustling streets, as well as the Chiang Mai region with its lush nature in the north.

If you wish to delve deeper into the authentic north or plan a beach extension, allocate an additional 3-4 days.

For those looking for an itinerary that includes remarkable sites across the country along with a beach stay at the end of the journey, a duration of 2 weeks is highly recommended.
