The colorful wooden puppets are skillfully manipulated by artists using sticks and bamboo poles underwater. This unique and captivating art form is specific to northern Vietnam.
Overnight at the hotel.

Upon arrival in Ninh Xuan, visit Mount Mua. Climb a white staircase of 486 stone steps to the top of this bell-shaped mountain for panoramic views of the Tam Coc area.
A limestone mountain located near the rivers and karst formations of Tam Coc. Historically, it was renowned for hosting dance performances presented to the kings of the Tran Dynasty (13th-14th century).
Next, transfer to Tam Coc for a relaxing bike ride to explore this beautiful region.
An expansive landscape featuring karst rock formations, rice paddies, and rivers. Boat rides on the Ngo Dong River, winding through these karst formations, offer a perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the lush surrounding nature.

In the afternoon, enjoy a free walking tour to explore the old port city of Hoi An – "the most charming city in Vietnam":
Overnight at the hotel.
Flight to Ho Chi Minh City, the capital of the south (formerly Saigon). Upon arrival, visit the following:
Formerly known as Saigon, Ho Chi Minh City is the largest city in the country, home to around 10 million people. The city is also the gateway to the Mekong Delta, the coastal coast, and the southern highlands.
Overnight at the hotel.
Depart for the Mekong Delta, a region where land and water blend seamlessly in the far south of Vietnam. Arrive in Cai Be, a small town set along the northern branch of the Mekong River.
Originating in the gigantic Himalayan range, the Mekong flows through five countries upstream of Southeast Asia (China, Burma, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos) before flowing into the Pacific Ocean on Vietnamese territory. This river has shaped a vast and fertile delta known as the "Mekong Delta" in the southern part of the country.
Continue to Ben Tre, located in the heart of the delta. From here, take a boat trip along the waterways to Nhon Thanh, a quiet rural area known for its coconut trade and the production of coconut-based products such as coconut oil, coconut fiber, and activated charcoal. Visit local brick kilns to observe the traditional brick-making process, then enjoy a tasting of fresh tropical fruits and honey tea in a garden setting.
Next, hop on a xe loi (motorized cart) for a ride through lush countryside dotted with coconut plantations. This off-the-beaten-path route follows narrow, shaded paths and reveals a more peaceful, authentic side of the delta. Along the way, stop at local workshops to see how coconut candy is made and how traditional mats are woven.
Continue with a short rowing boat ride through narrow canals lined with water palms, offering a glimpse into everyday life in the Mekong Delta.
In the afternoon, drive to Can Tho, the main city of the Mekong Delta.
Overnight in Can Tho.
Start the day with an immersive exploration of the Mekong Delta, where local life unfolds along the water.
Board a boat and cruise along the calm branches of the Mekong River. As the sun rises, the Cai Rang floating market comes to life, with dozens of boats gathering and loaded with fresh fruits, vegetables, and everyday goods. This is one of the most authentic ways to experience the Delta’s river-based lifestyle.
After returning to shore, visit a traditional local market for a different yet equally genuine glimpse into daily life and trade in the region.
Then transfer to the airport for your flight to Phu Quoc Island.
Overnight in Phu Quoc.
Two days completely free for rest and self-discovery on the island of Phu Quoc, a "paradise for lovers of relaxation on fine sand and well-being."
Relax on the deserted beaches, shaded by tall trees along the Gulf of Thailand. Enjoy walks along the coastline, through beautiful, unspoiled landscapes, or hike in the primeval forests of Phu Quoc National Park.

Many young Vietnamese people and those working in tourism speak some English, so don't hesitate to ask for help.
Unique experiences to include in this trip could be taking a street food tour, trying your hand at traditional crafts like pottery or silk weaving, enjoying a bike ride through the countryside, participating in a dawn Tai Chi session by a lake, or exploring Vietnam's coffee culture by visiting local cafes and trying different brews.
