Katê Festival 2025: The Most Colorful Cham Event in Vietnam!

The Kate Festival 2025 is the most vibrant celebration of the Cham people in Vietnam, held in Ninh Thuan with colorful rituals, music, and dance. It’s a once-a-year chance to witness ancient traditions, explore Cham culture, and join locals in a truly unique spiritual festivity.

The Katê Festival is one of the most important Cham Hindu celebrations in Central Vietnam, held each year in Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, and nearby Cham communities.

The Katê Festival usually takes place in early July of the ancient Cham calendar, around late September to early October in the solar calendar.

👉 This year, the festival will be held on October 20 & 21, 2025, lasting for about three days with an atmosphere that is both sacred and festive.

The main activities of the festival take place at the famous Cham towers, especially Po Klaong Garai (Ninh Thuan), Po Rome (Ninh Thuan), and Po Sah Inu (Binh Thuan). These sacred sites become the center of rituals, prayers, and cultural performances during the celebration.

After the main ceremonies are completed, the Cham people also take part in many other activities.

Is solo travel in Vietnam safe? My detailed guide!
Is solo travel in Vietnam safe? My detailed guide!
I've been lucky enough to travel through almost all of Southeast Asia, and the more I go alone, the more I get a taste for it. Traveling solo does not mean being alone, but moving at your own pace, opening up more easily to encounters and experiencing each place more intensely. In recent years, I've come across more and more women who travel alone, often for the same reason: not to wait any longer. They take their bags and leave.  Out of all the destinations I've visited, Vietnam remains one of the best choices for a solo trip. It is a safe, welcoming, approachable, and deeply endearing country. Here's everything you need to know to prepare for solo travel in Vietnam.
