The Cu Chi Tunnels, a famous historical site, are closely linked to Vietnam's resistance history. The Cu Chi provincial government has now launched a theater show reenacting the lives and struggles of local people during the wartime, offering visitors an immersive glimpse into this important time.
The live-action theater production "Dat Thep - Dia Dao An Toan Nhat La Long Dan" reenacts life in Cu Chi during wartime, narrated through the perspective of an American soldier’s spirit. The performance highlights the resilience and sacrifices of the Cu Chi people, creating an emotional and educational experience for audiences.
Premiering on December 12 at the Cu Chi District Traditional House, the show combines captivating visuals, heartfelt performances, and historical authenticity. It aims to attract both local and international tourists, offering a unique way to connect with Vietnam’s history and the enduring strength of its people.

Directed by Le Quy Duong, the show is narrated by the spirit of an American soldier from the 25th Infantry Division stationed at Dong Du Base, who died on the Cu Chi battlefield. Moved by the resilience of the Cu Chi people, the soldier's spirit guides visitors through their struggles and sacrifices, highlighting the longing for peace and independence.
The story centers on Heroic Mother Nguyen Thi Ranh, with scenes of tunnel digging, guerrilla fighters, and wartime heroes. Performed by local residents, the show is available in both Vietnamese and English.
