    Program description

Upon your arrival in Bangkok, a friendly local guide from Kampá Tour will warmly welcome you at the airport and accompany you to your centrally located hotel, with rooms ready for check-in from 2 p.m. onward.

Seize the chance to relax or immerse yourself in the vibrant energy of the Thai capital.

Your first night will be spent comfortably at the hotel, marking the beginning of your unforgettable 10-day historical journey through northern Thailand with Kampá Tour.

After a hearty breakfast, kick off your adventure with a leisurely long-tail boat ride along the Chao Phraya River. Start your journey through Thonburi's bustling canals, where you'll catch glimpses of local life by the water. Visit three of Thailand's oldest temples, including the awe-inspiring Temple of Dawn and the Grand Palace. Immerse yourself in the beauty of Wat Pho and its Reclining Buddha.

Return to the hotel for some well-deserved rest.

Take your night rest in Bangkok.

Depart for Ayutthaya, the former capital of Siam, stopping en route at the Bang Pa In Summer Palace.

After that, arrive in Ayutthaya, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known as the "Venice of the East" for its riverside location. Explore Wat Phra Si, Wat Chai Wattanaram, and Wat Yai Chai Mongkol, remnants of the Ayutthaya Empire.

    Spend your night in Ayutthaya.

Leave Ayutthaya early for Phitsanulok, visiting Wat Mahathat to see the stunning Phra Chinnarat Buddha. Explore the local museum before continuing to Sukhothai, Thailand's first capital in the 13th century. Discover the Sukhothai Historical Park, a UNESCO site featuring palaces, temples, and ancient artifacts. Attend the Loi Krathong festival in the evening to experience local cuisine.

Stay the night in the tranquility of Sukhothai.

You will arrive in Chiang Rai around noon. Don't forget to discover the famous Golden Triangle where the borders of the three countries Thailand, Myanmar (Burma) and Laos meet at the Mekong River. Next, we will visit Mae Sai, the northernmost point of Thailand on the Burmese border. Mae Sai is a small but thriving town where you will meet many local mountain people.

    Night in Chiang Rai.

Start your day with a boat excursion to explore the renowned Golden Triangle, an area famous for its land borders with Myanmar and Laos, offering magnificent views of the Mekong River.

Depart for Chiang Saen and embark on a motorboat to cruise along the Khong River, marking the border between Thailand and Laos. Arrive at the Golden Triangle, the meeting point of three countries - Myanmar, Laos, and Thailand. Disembark and journey to Chiang Mai, hailed as the "Rose of the North."

Upon arrival, visit Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, an iconic site in Chiang Mai where sacred Buddha relics are enshrined in a revered spot within the golden stupa. Legend has it that in the 14th century, an elephant chose the location for this pagoda, which overlooks the city from atop a 1,000-meter hill. Accessible via a staircase of 300 steps adorned with two gigantic nagas, the chedi stands 22 meters tall and is covered in gold leaf. The site offers a panoramic view of Chiang Mai that is not to be missed.

Return to Chiang Mai for an overnight stay.

Spend the day exploring an elephant training camp nestled amidst the jungle. Transfer to the camp and outskirts of Chiang Mai to visit Baan Chang Elephant Farm. Far from being a mere tourist camp, Baan Chang offers "responsible" activities and courses that prioritize the welfare of these majestic animals. Learn about the elephants and care for them, feeding them their favorite treats of bananas and sugarcane. Enjoy a ride on the back of an elephant through the lush jungle.

Indulge in a lunch of local specialties before participating in the magical experience of bathing with the elephants. Return to Chiang Mai, where the rest of the day is free for relaxation. Overnight stay in Chiang Mai.

After breakfast, depart for Mae Hong Son. Then we will visit the temples of Wat Jong Kham and Wat Jong Klang, followed by the Phra That Doi Kong Mu Temple, offering stunning views of Mae Hong Son city.

Next, explore the Long Neck Village in Baan Hua Sertao. Overnight stay in Mae Hong Son.

At the end, we will visit Long Neck town in Baan Hua Sertao. Night in Mae Hong Son.

Today, we will embark on a visit to the World War II Japanese Museum, followed by a journey to Mae Sariang in Maelanoi to explore the unique Crystal Cave found nowhere else in Thailand. Visit the Wat Prathat Chomthong Temple before driving back to Chiang Mai through picturesque mountain landscapes.

    Overnight stay in Chiang Mai.

Depending on your flight schedule, you will catch a flight back to Bangkok to begin your journey home.

This concludes your 10-day historical tour of North Thailand with Kampá Tour. We hope you have enjoyed exploring Thailand's rich culture, stunning landscapes, and vibrant cities. Thank you for choosing Kampá Tour, and we look forward to welcoming you on your next adventure.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    1. Do I need a visa to visit Thailand?

Members of the G7 countries, including France, Belgium, Switzerland, and Canada, are allowed to enter Thailand without a visa for stays of up to 45 days. This policy applies to both land and air arrivals. Travelers must present a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the return date and round-trip airline tickets upon arrival.

If your trip exceeds 45 days, you can apply for a visa either online or at the Embassy of Thailand. We recommend the E-visa for its convenience and speed. After completing the required procedures on the website https://www.thaievisa.go.th/, you will typically wait for two or three business days to receive the E-visa, which will be sent to your email address.
