Celebrate history and creativity aboard the Heritage Train

As part of the Hanoi Creative Design Festival 2023, two trains named the "Heritage Journey" will connect the city center to the suburbs of Long Bien and Gia Lam starting from November 17. This will allow visitors to explore three historic stations and iconic local railway heritage sites.

Two special trains named Heritage Journey will operate from November 17, connecting three historically significant stations: Hanoi Station, Long Bien Station, and Gia Lam Station. Train LH1 will depart from Long Bien Station at 7:05 PM, while Train LH2 will depart from Gia Lam Station at 10:25 PM. These train journeys offer a rediscovery of Hanoi's rich railway heritage through these three iconic stations.

The train consists of three carriages, each featuring a unique design and artistic decor. Artists from various fields perform on board to entertain passengers. For this celebration of Vietnamese heritage, tickets cost 20,000 dong.

Built in 1905 by the French to harness railway development, the Gia Lam railway factory is a highlight of the Hanoi Creative Design Festival 2023. The festival also highlights Hang Dau Water Tower, Van Xuan Flower Garden, and Long Bien Station, all witnesses to the city's history.

From Gia Lam Station, passengers can walk to the Gia Lam railway factory, where the Hanoi Creative Design Festival takes place. This heritage train, chartered specifically for the festival's duration, aims to transport visitors to the site, making it easier for them to explore the rich cultural and technical heritage of Vietnamese railways. Between the retro train ride and festival attractions, tourists can immerse themselves in the country's railroad history.

The festival lasts for 10 days, during which visitors can travel from Hanoi Station to Gia Lam Station on trains LH3 and LH5 in the morning, and trains LH4 and LH6 in the afternoon. These trains facilitate access to various festival sites, where visitors can enjoy the cultural and artistic ambiance.

  1. Visit lehoithietkesangtao.vn/
  2. Select the "Buy Heritage Train Ticket" tab.
  3. Choose the day you want to depart. The website will automatically redirect to the Vietnamese Railways website.
  4. Select a train with the LH or LP code. Choose the carriage and seat.
  5. Pay (20,000 VND/seat) and receive your tickets.
