The Songkran Festival is held annually in Thailand over three days on April 13, 14 and 15. It marks the beginning of the traditional Thai New Year.
During this celebration, streets teem with people engaged in exuberant 'water fights.' The atmosphere pulsates with music, dance, and joy, creating an unparalleled festive ambiance. By doing one another, Thai people convey wishes for happiness, prosperity, and good health to themselves and their dear ones.
Songkran Water Festival 2026 takes place from April 12 to 16 at 20 famous tourist destinations across Thailand. However, in provinces and cities, festivals are often held early and end later. Therefore, the festival will last from April 4 to April 20.
The General Department of Tourism (TAT) announced the time and location of the Songkran festival in 20 provinces and cities that are famous tourist destinations in Thailand.
