1. Performances and exhibitions of traditional ethnic culture and brocade

Time: November 8–11, 2024
Location: Multi-Purpose Hall and Sapa Museum, Sapa Town, Lao Cai Province

Key Activities:

  • Brocade Demonstrations & Exhibitions: Hosted at the Multi-Purpose Hall, these sessions will let visitors experience the traditional brocade production process firsthand, including tools, artifacts, photographs, and detailed display panels.
Visitors can experience a live demonstration of the brocade-making process
  • Intangible Cultural Heritage Displays: The event will highlight Lao Cai’s national intangible cultural heritage, featuring the Red Dao people’s decorative art, Black Hmong tailoring, Nung Din embroidery, Flower Hmong motifs, and weaving traditions from the Dao Ho and Thu Lao communities.
  • Product Exhibition at Sapa Museum: A showcase of brocade products, including pillows, blankets, bags, artwork, wearable items, and various souvenirs, all available for viewing and purchase.

2. The art program of the Lao Cai Brocade Festival – Colors of Culture

Time: 7:45 PM to 9:00 PM, November 9, 2024
Location: 2 Fansipan Street, Sapa Town

The art program, themed “Sapa – Brocade of the Cloudy Highlands” tells the story of brocade—a testament to the skill, creativity, and dreams of ethnic women, woven with love, aspirations, and longing.

  • The Art Program: The program features modern brocade designs inspired by the Hmong, Dao, Xa Pho, Giay, and Tay ethnic groups, promoting cultural connection and showcasing the vibrant life and beauty of Sapa, Lao Cai.

3. Immersive art installation showcasing cultural heritage and the daily use of brocade

Time: Starting November 9, 2024 (extended based on visitor interest)
Location: Multi-Purpose Hall and Sapa Museum, with a permanent display at the Center for Tourism Information and Promotion, Sapa

Key Activities:

  • Immersive art installations: Visitors can be immersed in the “Sapa—Land of Clouds” cultural space and explore vibrant brocade products such as clothing, bags, and pillows. Unique displays create an impressive brocade world rich in color and tradition.
