1. Udon Thani, Thailand

On the verge of the vacation-laden months of April and May, Agoda shares the 8 most popular tourist destinations in Asia to get Agoda's excellent value offers. In Thailand, Udon Thani is the most affordable tourist destination, with an average room rate of 1.022 THB (~ 28 USD). Udon Thani snatches the title from Khon Kaen, who topped the ranking of cheaper destinations a year ago.

According to the Tourist Office of Thailand, this city is famous for its archaeological wonders. Ban Chiang is the most prominent and one of the places with the earliest appearance of humanity. Visitors here find almost no difficulties due to the kindness and simplicity of the locals.

In the picture is the red lotus lake (Talay Bua Daeng); it is also called Nong Han Kumphawapi, a natural tourist spot 45 km southeast of Udon Thani. The best way to enjoy this show is on board one of the boats that sail on the lake, and the best hours are the first of the morning when the flowers are open.
