Mid-Autumn Festival: Unique Exhibition at the Temple of Literature

The exceptional artisanal art project "Tinh Quang Hoi Nguyet," held at the Temple of Literature in Hanoi, represents a significant milestone in the exploration and promotion of traditional Vietnamese culture, initiated and organized by young Vietnamese passionate about ethnic art.

From August 31 to September 17, 2024, visitors will have the opportunity to admire artworks inspired by the light of stars and the moon at the reception hall – Thai Hoc area, in the Temple of Literature (Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam).

"Tinh Quang Hoi Nguyet" – a name that not only evokes the sparkling beauty of stars but also the fusion of this bright light with the moon during a lunar eclipse, creating a rare mythical landscape.

The idea of this exhibition is inspired by the lunar eclipse phenomenon, which is why the exhibition space adopts red as the main color.

During this exhibition, visitors can admire artworks inspired by stars, the moon, and symbols of Vietnam's Mid-Autumn Festival culture. They will also have the chance to participate in various traditional craft activities, such as making star-shaped lanterns, painting masks, creating lacquer paintings, making mooncakes, and crafting traditional lanterns.

The tools needed for the lacquer painting experience are neatly and carefully arranged, attracting visitors' attention.
Visual artist Pham Khac Thang, who has practiced lacquer painting for nearly 10 years, performs live demonstrations and explains the steps of the process to visitors.
Visitors particularly enjoy participating in traditional artistic activities related to Vietnam’s Mid-Autumn Festival.
Within the Temple of Literature, the "Trung thu vui ky" exhibition attracts many visitors, both Vietnamese and foreigners.
