Qatar Airways, a Historic Domination

At the Skytrax ceremony held on June 17 at the Air and Space Museum as part of the Paris Air Show, Qatar Airways was crowned the Best Airline in the World. This marks the ninth time the Qatari carrier has received this title since the award’s inception 26 years ago — an unmatched record.

The airline didn’t stop there: it also won three other major distinctions this year — Best Airline in the Middle East, Best Business Class, and Best Business Lounge (Al Mourjan Lounge in Doha).

Good to know: Launched in 1999, the Skytrax World Airline Awards are recognized as an independent and impartial benchmark in aviation. The 2025 edition is based on more than 22 million passenger votes worldwide, evaluating over 325 airlines. The process, fully funded by Skytrax, ensures assessments are free from airline influence.

  • Virgin Atlantic won the award for Best Premium Economy Class.
