Why is March a great time to explore Cambodia?
When you visit the beautiful Cambodia, you’ll be captivated by its stunning landmarks and rich cultural heritage. In this article, we will explore the breathtaking beauty of Cambodia in March, highlight its most famous landmarks, and delve into the rich cultural experiences awaiting visitors. Get ready to discover why this is the perfect time to visit and create unforgettable memories in this enchanting destination.
What is the Weather Like in Cambodia in March?
March marks the dry season in Cambodia, providing clear skies and hot weather. With minimal chances of rain, March is ideal for photography, particularly during the early mornings when the iconic Angkor Wat glows under the soft light of sunrise. The northern city of Siem Reap experiences an average temperature of 30°C (86°F), with afternoon highs reaching a scorching 34°C (93°F).
Evenings provide little respite as temperatures drop slightly to 25°C (77°F). That's why you will appreciate having air conditioning at your accommodations after a day of exploration. Further south, in the coastal region of Sihanoukville or Koh Rong, temperatures mirror those of Siem Reap, but slightly cooler with daytime highs around 32°C (90°F) and nighttime lows of 26°C (79°F).
In fact, we and other travellers can confirm that the heat can be intense but manageable with proper preparation, such as cooling towels, hydration, or planning excursions during the early morning or late afternoon can make a significant difference. And if you come from cooler climates, such as the UK or Canada, it might be challenging but rewarding to experience the beauty of the country.
