Dear Nhung,
I finally find the time to write to you and share the impressions that our journey to Vietnam left on us.
Beyond the wonderful memories of the 23 days we spent in Vietnam, there is a particular aspect of this trip that I wish to share with you.
My wife and I have traveled fairly extensively. Not as much as we would have liked, but over the years, we have had the opportunity to visit several countries and have learned to organize our trips quite competently and independently. We have never participated in an organized tour and have always chosen our destinations, itineraries, and experiences based on our readings about the countries we visit and our personal tastes and interests. For Vietnam, our starting point was the same, and you may recall that to define our itinerary, we initially sent you a very precise and detailed travel plan.
It was based on this initial input that, by working on the proposed itinerary and clearly understanding the type of interests that drive us, you were able to enhance your proposed plan in a remarkable way, enriching our days of exploration. I believe it was clear to you that our goal was not only to discover the monuments, tourist spots, and numerous beauties of the country but also—and I would say, in hindsight, especially—to become acquainted with the rural world of Northern Vietnam and to meet, as much as possible, the ethnic minorities who inhabit it. Thanks to you and the efforts of your agency, we surely achieved this goal.
More than once, after a day when Ngoc had guided us through the wonderful countryside and villages of Pu Luong, led us through the tea plantations of Moc Chau, showed us the different faces of the mountains around Sapa and Cao Bang—from the more touristy areas to what Sapa probably looked like 50 years ago—and taken us along the winding trails near Bac Ha, my wife and I remarked that such experiences would never have been possible without the preliminary organization provided by you and without the presence of an expert guide like Ngoc, who knows the mountains and their people so well.
In Vietnam, we experienced a new type of travel, where our prior research and decisions served as a foundation for your work, enabling you to create an itinerary that fully matched our desires. You demonstrated the added value that an attentive agency, tuned into the client’s interests and curiosities, can provide by offering us unexpected and delightful experiences.
We therefore thank you, Nhung, as well as your agency, for the excellent work you did and for all the memories we brought back with us from Vietnam!
We hope to see you soon for another journey to share with you!
With our best regards,
