LUNG CUNG: A MAGNIFICENT TREKKING ROUTE ON THE ROOF OF MU CANG CHAI
The trail to the summit of Lung Cung passes through villages, forests of red maple leaves, and waterfalls. The scenery constantly changes, offering an unforgettable winter experience.
The summit of Lung Cung reaches an elevation of 2,913 meters in Mu Cang Chai District. Ranked among the 15 highest peaks in Vietnam, it attracts hiking enthusiasts with its stunning landscapes and accessible 20-kilometer trail. The summit is also an ideal spot to admire sunsets and sunrises over a sea of clouds with a 360-degree panoramic view.
During the trek to Lung Cung, visitors can choose from three routes to reach the summit: starting from Lung Cung Village, Tu San Village, or Thao Chua Chai Village. Among these options, the starting point from Tu San Village is often preferred due to the enchanting scenery along the way.
Upon entering the forest, the temperature drops, and the cold, humid mountain air becomes noticeable.
After crossing areas with waterfalls and ancient trees, hikers reach an open slope dotted with dwarf rhododendrons and ferns.
The sunset casts a golden glow on the tree trunks, revealing a landscape reminiscent of an enchanted garden.
A shelter for overnight stays at Lung Cung is located at an altitude of 2,400 meters, built on flat terrain. In winter, temperatures can drop below 10 degrees Celsius.
The sea of clouds floating over the mountains is one of the highlights of reaching the summit of Lung Cung in favorable weather. Although the sun may shine, the summit is often shrouded in mist and clouds, creating a magical atmosphere.
Currently, Lung Cung is not excessively cold: daytime temperatures hover around 15 degrees Celsius, and while nights are cool, they are not freezing. It is a mysterious tableau in the heart of the mountains, where every step unveils a magical paradise, a place that invites souls seeking the grandeur and silence of nature.
