- Opening Hours: 6:00 PM - 1:00 AM Daily
Located in the Lebua State Tower, the infamous "Hangover" hotel is Sky Bar which is considered to be one of the highest rooftop bars, offering panoramic views of the city and the riverside. The ambiance is elegant and makes for a perfect date night or even just a place to take in the city that doesn't really sleep.
What I don't really like about it
Since it's one of Bangkok's most renowned bars, this makes the price range a little bit on the high-end so not an ideal place to go if you're looking for a chilled night. There's also a dress code and given its popularity, it can get fairly crowded.

Sky Beach at King Power Mahanakhon - Best Sky Bar
- Address: King Power Mahanakhon Building, 114 Naradhiwat Rajanagarindra Rd, Silom, Bang Rak
- Opening Hours: 10:00 AM - Midnight Daily (last access: 11:00 PM)
Seeing as it's the highest bar in the city, it gives you the chance to fully soak in all that Bangkok has to offer because it also has an amazing 360-degree view. This place is beautiful regardless of whether you visit during the day or at night, but if you're lucky, then you should visit twice to get two different experiences.
What I don't really like about it
The cover charge to enter is 1,200 THB after 7:00 PM, so if you love rooftops late at night but have a tight budget, this place may not be ideal.

Smalls - Best Local Bar
- Address: 186/3 Suan Phlu Soi 1, Sathorn, Bangkok
- Opening Hours: 5:00 PM - 2:00 AM Daily
For those seeking a more laid-back vibe, Smalls is the perfect place as it gives an intimate feeling across multi-levels. You'll also be treated to art as the decoration is both artsy and bohemian. Pair that with live jazz and premium cocktails and you've got yourself an amazing escape.
What I don't really like about it
Live jazz nights often reign in crowds of locals and expats and given its small area, it can get quite packed.

The Rock Pub - Best Rock Pub
- Address: 93/26-28 Hollywood Street Building, Phaya Thai Road, Ratchathewi, Bangkok
- Opening Hours: 5:00 PM - 2:00 AM Daily
As one of Bangkok’s oldest rock and metal pubs, The Rock Pub offers a night filled with rock music and frequently hosts local and international bands.
What I don't like about it:
If you're not a fan of heavier music or loud noises, this might not be your scene. It can also get very crowded, especially on nights with renowned bands.

Spaceplus Bangkok - Best Night Club
- Address: 31/10 3rd Floor, RCA Plaza, Soi Phetchaburi 47, Bangkapi, Huai Khwang
- Opening Hours: 8:00 PM - 2:00 AM Daily
Spaceplus is one of Bangkok’s biggest EDM clubs, giving you the festival vibe with world-famous DJs and themed nights to keep things exciting.
What I don't like about it:
If you're sensitive to lights, lasers, or large crowds, Spaceplus might not be the best place, as it features full production, including confetti bombs and massive crowds.

Sugar Club - Best Hip Hop Club
- Address: 37 Sukhumvit Soi 11, Khlong Toei Nua, Watthana
- Opening Hours: 10:00 PM - Late Daily
Sugar Club is the go-to spot for hip-hop lovers looking to party in Sukhumvit after cocktails. With its central location, it’s a popular hangout for both expats and locals.
What I don't like about it:
Depending on the night, there have been reports of discriminatory door policies, so you might get turned away.

Mustache Bangkok - Best Techno Club
- Address: 118 Soi Sukhumvit 23, Khlong Toei Nuea, Watthana, Bangkok 10110
- Opening Hours: Friday and Saturday, 9:00 PM - 3:00 AM
Mustache Bangkok offers an underground clubbing experience with house and techno music, perfect for those who want to avoid the commercial scene.
What I don't like about it
If you're in Bangkok for a short time and not visiting over the weekend, you’ll miss out, as this club is only open on Fridays and Saturdays.

The Iron Fairies - Best Music Bar Bangkok
- Address: 394 Thonglor Road, Sukhumvit 55, Bangkok, Thailand
- Opening Hours: 6:00 PM - 2:00 AM Daily
This bar is designed to drive you in a fairy-tale world with a steampunk twist. The signature cocktails are a must-try, especially while enjoying live jazz performances.
What I don't like about it
The drinks are quite pricey, and if you're after a bright, loud atmosphere, this isn’t the place. It offers a more intimate vibe with small seating areas and dim lighting.

Saxophone Pub - Best Classical Jazz Spot
- Address: 3/8 Phaya Thai Road, Victory Monument, Bangkok 10400
- Opening Hours: 5:00 PM - 2:00 AM Daily
As the name suggests, Saxophone Pub is known for its classical jazz and blues performances. It’s popular for those seeking a relaxed night of live music.
What I don't like about it:
It’s very popular, so getting a seat without a reservation can be challenging. Also, if you’re looking for a large food menu, you might be disappointed, as the offerings are fairly limited.

Best LGBTQ+ Bars - House of Heals and DJ Station
House of Heals
- Address: Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong Hotel, 518/8 Ploenchit Rd, Lumphini, Pathum Wan
- Opening Hours: Monday-Sunday, 9:00 PM - 1:30 AM (Closed on Tuesdays)
House of HEALS features amazing drag performances, live singing, and crowd interactions, including spontaneous and choreographed dance routines.
What I don’t like about it:
If you’re looking to just dance, this isn’t the place as it’s more of a performance venue where you sit back and enjoy the shows. It’s also quite expensive.

DJ Station
- Address: 11 Silom Soi 2, Bang Rak, Bangkok 10500
- Opening Hours: 10:00 PM - 2:00 AM Daily
Tourists and locals flock to this popular and reputable gay nightclub, known for its multi-level interior, each floor offering a unique experience.
What I don’t like about it:
Weekends can get very crowded, making it difficult to navigate to the bar. The atmosphere is more club-like with loud music, rather than an intimate setting.

Best Bangkok Bars for Singles - Havana Social and Bisou Bangkok
Havana Social
- Address: Sukhumvit Soi 11, Khlong Toei Nua, Watthana, Bangkok
- Opening Hours: 6:00 PM - 2:00 AM Daily
This place stands out with its speakeasy-style decor, transporting you back to 1940s Cuba. It’s also a great spot to meet singles and mingle with locals and expats while enjoying Latin music.
What I don’t like about it:
As a speakeasy bar, finding the entrance can be tricky—it’s hidden behind a photobooth and might not be obvious to first-timers.

Bisou Bangkok
- Address: Soi Sukhumvit 31, Khlong Toei Nuea, Watthana, Bangkok 10110, Thailand
- Opening Hours: 5:00 PM - 12:00 AM Daily
With its elegant setting, this bar is the perfect spot to sit back, relax with a glass of wine, and people-watch.
What I don’t like about it:
As an upscale venue, the prices here are on the higher side, which might not suit those on a tight budget or those looking for a more casual night out.
Best Night Markets - Jodd Fairs and Bangkok Train Night Market
Jodd Fairs
- Address: Rama 9 Road, Huai Khwang, Bangkok
- Opening Hours: 5:00 PM - Midnight Daily
Known for its variety of street food stalls, Jodd Fairs is a great spot for foodies and those looking to experience local life. You’ll also find clothes for sale and live music to enjoy.
What I don't like about it:
As a tourist hotspot, food prices are higher than at smaller night markets. It can get very crowded, especially on weekends and after 7 PM.

Talat Rot Fai (Train Night Market) Srinakarin
- Address: 51 Srinagarindra Road, Nong Bon, Prawet, Bangkok 10250, Thailand
- Opening Hours: Thursday - Sunday, 5:00 PM - 1:00 AM
This market offers a mix of retro fashion, antiques, and local bars, making it a fun spot for shopping and late-night outings.
What I don't like about it:
Located far from the city center, it may be inconvenient if you're unfamiliar with the local transport system or prefer staying close to downtown.

At the end, my thought is....
There’s a reason why thousands of tourists flock to Bangkok - it’s nightlife is something you have to experience.
As a local who’s lived here for 29 years, trust me, I know exactly what you’re looking for.
