Where should you NOT go in July?

Given Vietnam's tropical and subtropical climate, and the challenges posed by climate change, the Northern region can experience storms in the summer. Here’s some essential information to help you plan your trip and ensure the best experience:

  • Islands in Quang Ninh: Quan Lan, Co To, Ngoc Vung, Minh Chau, and Cat Ba Island (Hai Phong) are popular destinations in the North. However, July is the early season for storms, so consider this when planning your visit.
  • Northern Mountainous Areas: Destinations like Son La, Moc Chau, and Mai Chau are beautiful, but July storms can cause flash floods and landslides, especially on routes to Mai Chau and Moc Chau. These conditions can make travel difficult and dangerous.

While such weather conditions are not frequent, occurring only 1-2 days a month, it’s crucial to avoid storm times for safety. So, stay informed and plan accordingly to enjoy a safe and pleasant trip.
